#FM15: To The Top! 3.4 – Chasing a Third Title

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the last post of 2016. Hopefully this next year will be an even better year than 2016! To wrap up the year for TMOD blog posts, we’re going to go over the rest of the Division Nine season with AFC Bolnore.

We last left off in a bit of a rocky patch on the last day of December 2016. Our performances were wins for the most part, but injuries at poor times coupled with sub-par performances during those wins and several losses had let me down a bit. I don’t expect my team to win every single match and have numerous consecutive invincible seasons, which seems extraordinarily unreasonable, but I do have a winner’s mentality, and I have a really high expectation for my team. Now, let’s get to business… Did we meet those expectations?

#FM15: To The Top! 3.3 -Disappointment

You ever have one of those sessions where you want to chuck your laptop across the room knowing you can’t replace it? Well, the end of 2016 has been giving me that feeling. In fact, this gif of Klopp throwing a bottle at the ground is summing up my mood perfectly.

We’re sitting second and consistently challenging for the title, but as my old man used to say, second place is the first loser, and even if it’s an automatic promotion, I still don’t want to accept second best if I’m capable of challenging for first.

Let’s quit moaning and get to covering the results.

#FM15: To The Top! 3.2 – Finding Momentum

Merry Christmas, or whatever your religious holiday is for this time of year. I hope you had a good one! I did. Or, at least I hope I did, because if I’m being honest, I’ve played so much Football Manager that with my updates scheduled the way they are and with my doing shorter updates instead of long season-wide updates, I actually wrote this two weeks ago!

It seems like all of the good matches are saved for Boxing Day, and we’ve got some great ones to share today, so let’s get to it, shall we?

#FM15: To The Top! 3.1 – A Rocky Start

It’s time for the next update to our AFC Bolnore save. Ladies and Gentlemen, we’re now in season three and Mid-Sussex Football League Division Nine following two consecutive title wins from Division Eleven and an undefeated league season last year. It will take 23 promotions from the bottom to make it to the English Premier League, which is of course our goal, and two are down!

We’re riding on a high, needless to say, club morale at an all time high, with the board, the fans, and the players ecstatic at our quick rise through the leagues since I took over. Can we keep the momentum going as we look to settle ourselves into this new league?

#FM15: To The Top! 2.5 – Invincible Bolnore!

Welcome back, it’s time to wrap up season two in charge of AFC Bolnore in what will certainly be a long post, because there’s quite a lot to cover. As you will gather from the title, “Invincible Bolnore!“, we’ve finished the league unbeaten! Our team always had the gap in quality from being able to secure so many Mid-Sussex D1 players for the team, but it’s nice to see it on paper that we finished unbeaten, especially considering some of the results that could have easily ended up different.

As you’ll recall, we were in a battle to win the Tester Challenge Cup, win the league, and survive a board takeover in the last part. Let’s get to work.

#FM15: To The Top! 2.4 – Board Takeover?

Remember in part one of this season when I said that Tony was willing to listen to offers for the club? Well, it’s time now, and a local businessman is negotiating with him for ownership of the club.

Before we get to that, however, we’ve got a couple of months and a handful of matches to cover, so let’s get down to business, since this will probably be a decent length post even without a few paragraphs of creative writing thrown in.

#FM15: To The Top! 2.3 – Steady As She Goes!

Time for another update on my progress with AFC Bolnore in my quest to take this little village town from their community recreation center to the Premier League.

Right now there isn’t anything particularly dramatic going on in the save that I can spin into creative writing for an introduction and “theme” to the post as a whole, so we’ll just quickly get into recapping what’s been going on since we last left off.
